During the past few years poverty has become one of the major social problems the state of Israel has to face. According to recent official statistics over 25% of the Israelis are considered poor, some of which pacing hard conditions on a daily basis in an ongoing battle to survive. Recent policy of the Israeli treasure department aimed to improve the Israeli economy raised a lot of criticism as it hurt the poorer parts of the population, and causing various NGOs to extend their activities against poverty.
