The war between Israel and Lebanon started on July 12, 2006 as a result of Hezbollah attack on an Israeli armored vehicle patrolling along the border kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers, it lasted 5 weeks until Aug 15, 2006. During the war approximately 130 Israelis lost their lives and more than 400 Lebanese were killed. The Hezbollah had fired more than 4000 missiles towards northern Israel, causing a population of around a million people to either live in shelters or flee their homes until the war was over.
