PORTFOLIO | REPORTAGE | GTMO
Guantanamo Bay is a territory on the Cuban island belonging to the U.S.A. which contains the oldest U.S. naval base overseas; Guantanamo Bay Naval Base Detention Camp (GTMO), it is the only American base which is not located on American soil. The name Guantanamo first made headlines with exposing the X-Ray camp which America used as a base jail for war criminals and terrorists, mainly from Iraq and Afghanistan. The media published that the jail conditions were a disgrace. The U.S. tried to claim but without success that the base was not located on the U.S's soil and that the prisoners could not benefit from its country's laws. The X-Ray camp operated for three months but caused the U.S. great damage for which they did not succeed to recover from.
